Senior Software Engineer II, Event Streaming

About the role:

We are looking for a talented engineer to design, develop, and optimize high-performance, large-scale distributed systems that power data transport and processing across Forter's ecosystem. As part of our Event Streaming team, you will play a key role in architecting a robust, real-time data platform that enables engineering and analytics teams to seamlessly move, process, and refine data. Your work will directly impact Forter's ability to make data-driven decisions, enhance fraud prevention strategies, and scale our infrastructure, acting as a force multiplier for development teams across the company. This is a position for engineers who enjoy solving complex challenges and building systems that drive real business impact.

About the Team:

The Event Streaming team is the backbone of Forter's data ecosystem, building and maintaining high-performance pipelines that transport and process data at scale. We continuously evolve our platform to ensure teams across the company can seamlessly move, transform, and unlock the full potential of their data. Our team of passionate, skilled engineers specializes in distributed systems and data infrastructure, tackling complex challenges to build scalable, reliable solutions. By optimizing workflows and enabling real-time insights, we empower engineering and analytics teams to deliver new features, drive innovation, and push the boundaries of what's possible with data.

What you'll be doing:

Design and implement high-performance, low-latency, large-scale data pipelines
Maintain and optimize data processes and applications
Work alongside diverse, high-performing, experienced engineers
Research and define new data practices to support Forter's growth

What you'll Need:

7+ years of proven experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale distributed system
Experience implementing and maintaining data-intensive applications
Experience with data transport technologies - SNS, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
and stream processing frameworks - KafkaStreams, Flink
Experience with AWS ecosystem - EC2, RDS, S3, MSK
Experience working in Python or Java
Experience working in containerized, orchestrated systems.
Ability to work with other engineers to achieve shared goals and objectives

It Would be Cool if you Have:

Experience with K8s and Terraform.
Experience leading large-scope software projects from requirements gathering to delivery
