Fermentation Process Researcher

Unit description:

The Growing Solutions, R&D Biological Product Development department, will develop new products based on biological means as part of ICL’s strategy to go into specialty fertilizer products.
This department will be composed of a cross-functional team of experts in microbiology, fermentation, formulation development, molecule delivery, and product analytics, and will work in collaboration with the field trials leaders from Agronomy, other departments within R&D, regulation, and Portfolio and marketing.

What will your responsibilities be?
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fermentation/Process Scientist to join our dynamic team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our biostimulant microbial-based products through research, development, and execution of new product initiatives.

-Serve as an SME and hands-on laboratory scientist for the development and optimization of the fermentation process.
- Involvement in technology transfer to a manufacturing scale
- Main process owner at the unit operations level, integrating process, equipment installation and knowledge.
- Identify new relevant technologies.
- Technical expert/support for installation and maintenance of process equipment.
- Support the broader Research and Development team in the laboratory, field, and production locations, including cleaning, organizing, and conducting the needed experimental tasks.
- Integration of results Interpretation of results and data generation to generate oral presentations and written reports.

What are we looking for?

- B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in Biotechnology Engineering/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biology
- B.Sc.with 5+ years or M.Sc with 2+ years with related work experience.
- Fundamental understanding of microbial fermentations, and process equipment function.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with fermentation processes.
- Knowledge of and training in good experimental design and basic statistics using statistical software (R, Prism, Minitab or JMP)
- Proficient with common Microsoft Office applications and other scientific software.
- Experience in biotech, food, and/or agriculture companies.
