Mechanical Team Lead

Smart-Shooter is looking for an experienced Mechanical Team Lead with strong capabilities in mechanical and opto-mechanical design for leading development projects, managing engineering teams, and working in a multi-program, highly multidisciplinary environment.

The role includes full ownership of mechanical development activities, from concept through production, alongside leading a team of engineers and driving complex system design and integration in a dynamic and challenging engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers (both professionally and personally)
Design and develop complex mechanical assemblies and systems from concept through production
Work closely with cross-functional teams including electronics, software, systems, and manufacturing
Lead design reviews (PDR, CDR) and ongoing engineering control processes
Ensure compliance with performance, quality, and schedule requirements
Manage configuration control and engineering change orders (ECO)
Support and lead transfer from development to production (NPI)
Work with suppliers and subcontractors

Requirements:

B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – mandatory
M.Sc. – advantage
7+ years of experience in mechanical design
Experience in developing complex / multidisciplinary systems
Proven experience in team leadership – mandatory
Experience in opto-mechanical design – mandatory
Proficiency in SolidWorks – mandatory
Experience with mechanical analysis (FEA) – advantage
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (DFM/DFA) and tolerancing (GD&T)
