Department: R&D – Physics and Electro-Optics Group Reports to: Application Development Team Leader

Role and Responsibilities:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of physics, electro-optics, hardware, firmware, software and real-world system deployment. You will gain exposure to advanced imaging technologies, interdisciplinary engineering, and global customer engagement. Serve as a technical focal point for customer-specific application development and system integration.

Support field evaluation and testing of electro-optical modules and systems across various platforms.

Develop and maintain application-level documentation, test procedures, and integration guidelines.

Collaborate closely with all the functions in the organizations including R&D Physicists, Engineers, Project Managers, Marketing, Business Units, and Operations, to ensure robust and reliable application performance.

Conduct on-site and remote technical support, training, and troubleshooting activities with domestic and international customers.

Conduct initial failure analysis and support in-depth investigations.

Participate in prototype validation, data acquisition, and post-processing, including scripting and analysis.

Provide feedback to design and product development teams to enhance product usability and performance in real-world conditions.

Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and application engineering best practices.

Be the point of contact of application development in all R&D phases of projects development; providing customer point of view for developing the right product, translate customer needs into technical specifications as part of the physics department.

Application Development Engineer role includes in depth understanding of the products and supporting products roadmaps by coherently organizing technical insights and customer needs.

Background requirements:

M.Sc. (or PhD). in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, Physics, or a closely related engineering discipline.

Very strong B.Sc. candidates with relevant experience would be considered.

3 years of experience in similar role or 5 years of experience in relevant industry.

Proven proficiency in at least two of the following domains: Hands-on System engineering

Electro-Optical Systems Engineering

Electronic Circuitry and Embedded Systems

Opto-Mechanical Integration

Image Processing and Signal Analysis

Embedded Software Development

Skillset Requirements:

Strong system-level thinking with an end-to-end project execution approach.
