Agan Pilot Plant Manager

Role Description:

Leading the pilot team of engineers and technicians, with responsibility for the effective pilot operation at ADAMA Agan, directly reporting to Head of Chemical R&D Agan.

Responsible for the scale-up of lab-procedures in organic chemistry field, execution, optimization and study of the processes in pilot. Focal point for process implementation, challenges resolution and process improvements.

Areas of responsibility:

Support the lab process development to meet production requirements.
In charge of safely Pilot operational activities
In charge of process scale up at pilot level and preparation of Tech-Package and Block Diagrams.
Efficient interaction with global tech-transfer team for successful handover and execution of processes in production facilities in Israel, abroad or CM plants.
Lead effective operation and maintenance of the Pilot R&D facility
Effective communication within R&D and production counterparts to ensure efficient process development, scale-up and tech transfer is timely executed and right first time.
Examine all the process safety aspects
Writing work instructions
Data collection and process control
Assist and proactively support in solving production and R&D process problems
Operational and safety responsibility for scale-up processes developed in R&D and produced in the Pilot plant

Required skills and abilities:

Deep knowledge of chemical processes and process engineering
Safety process evaluation (RC1 etc.)
Knowledge of scale-up and pilot processes
Data collection and results analysis abilities
Ability to plan and translate processes developed in R&D for working in larger quantities
Honesty, high motivation and accountability
The ability to make decisions under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills
Independence, initiative and creativity
Readiness to work shifts and weekends according to the company request
Readiness to travel abroad according to the company request

Role requirements:

Education/experience:

BSc Chemical Engineering – Essential

Knowledge and experience in a Pilot plant and engineering processes in a chemicals industry production facility

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the chemicals industry

Languages:

Fluent English and Hebrew
