Tami General Manager

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for leading ICL’s central R&D hub in Israel (Haifa) The scope of the role includes leading a team of approximately 100 employee which consist of research scientists, analytical research scientists, research technicians, and chemical engineering professionals. The focus will be on general management of all activities and employees, coordination with divisions, strategic planning, infrastructure management, and technology monetization. What will your responsibilities be?
General Management:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the R&D site, ensuring the efficient operation of all activities and departments.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, productivity, and professional growth.
- Set performance goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback to team members to ensure individual and team success.

Coordination with Divisions:
- Collaborate closely with the divisions to understand their current and future R&D, product, and process development needs.
- Develop annual budgets and long-range planning in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring the R&D site's activities are in line with the overall strategic direction.

Infrastructure Management:
- Assess and manage the infrastructure requirements to support current and future R&D initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement and drive the implementation of necessary upgrades or changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.

Strategic Vision:
- Collaborate with internal divisions and external innovation teams to develop a long-term vision for the site.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements related to fertilizers.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and growth, aligning them with the organization's objectives.

Technology Monetization:
- Develop a comprehensive plan for spinning off and monetizing technologies generated through R&D activities.
- Identify potential commercialization opportunities and engage with business development teams.
- Collaborate with legal and intellectual property teams to protect and leverage intellectual assets effectively.

What are we looking for?

- Masters, PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, and related discipline.
- MBA or Industrial Management preferred.
- Proven experience in similar role in terms of scope and team size.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with intellectual property and technology commercialization processes.
- A commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship.
