Field Service Engineer (Ashdod)

To ensure business continuity and operational excellence at the Paz Ashdod power station in Israel, Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to support the critical SGT-A65 gas turbine operations. This role is essential for maintaining high equipment availability, delivering specialized technical support, and representing the Service Operations division directly on-site. To address these business aims, the role focuses on three core areas: advanced technical maintenance and commissioning of aeroderivative gas turbines, proactive troubleshooting and diagnostics, and close customer coordination to ensure seamless service delivery. These focus areas directly support the plant's operational uptime. Given the specialized nature of the SGT-A65 technology, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, extensive experience in field service operations for gas turbines, and exceptional customer-facing communication skills. What You Need To Make a Difference 50% Field Service troubleshooting & technical support 1. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software faults on gas turbine control systems under tight schedules. 2. Provide high-level technical support and expert consulting to customers and internal stakeholders regarding control system performance and upgrades. 3. Lead site surveys, system assessments, and technical audits to identify potential system vulnerabilities and recommend preventive actions. 30% Commissiong and control system engineering 1. Execute complex commissioning, start-up, and optimization of Gas Turbine control systems at onshore customer sites. 2. Perform software modifications, logic updates, and system parameter tuning in alignment with engineering standards and safety protocols. 3. Conduct thorough functional testing of control loops, protection systems, and auxiliary interfaces during outages and commissioning phases. 20% Customer Management & Reporting Act as the primary technical point of contact for the customer at Paz Ashdod, managing expectations and delivering regular updates. Generate comprehensive technical service reports, root-cause analyses, and documentation for all field activities. Collaborate with back-office engineering and product support teams to resolve complex technical challenges. Certifications Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or equivalent industrial automation certification Education Practical Engineer or Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related technical discipline – Mandatory. 5 years proven experience in industrial maintenance, instrumentation and control systems, troubleshooting, and process plant operations – Mandatory.
