Senior Software Engineer, Backend Team

As a Senior Software Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in shaping experiences that truly make communication accessible for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. You will work across the stack - designing, building, and maintaining features that turn complex communication challenges into intuitive, high-performance solutions. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong product sense, who cares deeply about users, accessibility, performance, and scalable design.

On a day-to-day, you will:

Own features and systems end-to-end: from understanding the user problem, through architecture, development, and operating it in production.
Design, build, and operate high-scale backend infrastructure serving users with real-time, low-latency requirements.
Collaborate directly with product and engineering to shape what we build, not just how we build it.
Dig into complex production issues - performance, reliability, data processing - and solve them under real constraints.
Continuously improve system architecture, observability, and development practices.
Leverage AI as part of the daily engineering work to accelerate development.
