Baseband IC/Platform Director

We are looking for an experienced Baseband IC/Platform Director to lead the development and integration of our Baseband IC, DSP, Layer 1, and hardware design platforms. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of robust, high-quality solutions aligned with our company’s global quality standards and product roadmaps.

The Baseband IC/Platform Director is accountable for establishing and maintaining mature design and integration infrastructures, executing all department projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role also involves overseeing departmental budgeting and resource allocation, as well as fostering cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and control the Baseband IC/Platform department budget and ensure cost-effective resource utilization
Define and drive the execution of the technology and product roadmaps within the Baseband IC/Platform scope
Allocate internal IC design, DSP, L1 SW and platform integration resources to project teams based on priority, availability, and strategic goals
Develop and manage a strategic approach to subcontracting and outsourcing where appropriate, ensuring efficiency and quality
Ensure seamless collaboration and communication between the Baseband IC/Platform team and other departments (e.g., system architecture, software, product management)
Champion best practices and continuous improvement across IC, SW and hardware development lifecycles
Ensure the platform and design infrastructure meets scalability, quality, and compliance standards suitable for global product delivery
Report on progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership on a regular basis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience (15+ years) in Digital IC design, DSP, or hardware platform development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Deep understanding of hardware design flows, verification, integration processes, and platform development
Experience in Wireless Communication IC development is plus
Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-functional engineering programs on time and within budget
Demonstrated ability to manage departmental budgets and strategic resource planning
Experience in managing or coordinating with external subcontractors and outsourcing partners
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience working in a multinational or global product development environment
Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards applicable to hardware development
Previous experience in a high-reliability or high-volume product environment (e.g., telecom, automotive, consumer electronics)
