News Assistant

Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a versatile, intrepid journalist to be our next news assistant in Israel.

We are looking for a fluent Hebrew speaker who knows Israel inside and out to support our correspondents in pursuit of journalism for our global readership. The news assistant's primary responsibilities will include: summarizing local media accounts; setting up interviews with local subjects for correspondents and translating when necessary; help navigating local government and interfacing with officials in Hebrew; and research assignments.

The successful candidate should ideally have three years of experience working as a journalist in israel. Arabic language skills will be seen as a plus.
