Player-coach role on a defense-tech R&D team. You'll establish and lead a group of mechanical engineers while staying deep in the design work yourself, design fast, manufacture fast, fail fast, and reiterate fast. Career path toward deeper technical leadership or engineering management; team starts small and grows with the need.

Responsibilities:

* Own the mechanical architecture and design of the system / subsystem.
* Lead a team of mechanical engineers, design reviews, mentoring, planning, hiring.
* Stay deeply involved in the design of the most critical subsystems and mechanisms.
* Run structural, thermal, vibration, and shock FEA on flight-critical or fire-critical components.
* Drive DFM/DFA and work directly with subcontractors, machine shops, and suppliers.
* Partner with system, electrical, software, and V&V teams.
* Plan and execute qualification TEST campaigns through to acceptance.

Requirements:
* 5+ years hands-on mechanical engineering experience in complex multidisciplined product R&D.
* Defense-tech background, ideally one or more of: flying systems (UAVs, missiles, munitions, aircraft subsystems); firing / weapon systems (launchers, turrets, recoil mechanisms, ammunition handling); very complex robotics or machinery (multi-DOF systems, precision motion, ruggedized field hardware).
* Hands-on CAD ownership today, you still open SolidWorks (or equivalent) every day.
* Proven leadership of mechanical engineers, formally or as tech lead, ~3+ engineers.
* Full lifecycle delivery, concept prototype qualification production transfer.
* B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering.
* Fluent Hebrew + working English; eligible for security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
* Experience designing for harsh environments, vibration, shock, thermal, EMI, sealing.
* MIL- STD qualification (810, 461, etc.), you've taken hardware through it, not just heard of it.
* Experience at IAI, Rafael, Elbit, IMI/Elbit Systems Land, or similar primes.
* Opto-mechanical or precision motion experience.
* Pyrotechnic / energetic systems exposure.
* M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or related.
* Patent authorship.
* Experience managing distributed or outsourced engineering teams.
* Manufacturing breadth: sheet metal, CNC, injection molding, additive manufacturing, composites.
