Design and develop mechanical architectures for battery modules and systems, including enclosures, frames, mounts, compression, and safety features. Own the full mechanical design lifecycle-from concept and detailed design through prototyping, validation (DVT/PVT), and production release. Define requirements for strength, vibration, shock, sealing, thermal interfaces, and serviceability, and perform structural and fatigue analyses (FEA) to validate designs against industry standards. Collaborate closely with thermal, electrical, and system engineers to ensure proper integration of cells, busbars, and electronics. Support battery safety design, prototype builds, testing, and root-cause analysis, and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of R D experience in battery or energy Storage systems. Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or similar) and experience with structural simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent). Strong understanding of materials, fasteners, tolerances, and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, castings, extrusions, plastics), with hands-on experience in prototype assembly and testing. Ability to work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment with high ownership.
