Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

We're looking for a true senior, not in title, but in experience, mindset, and delivery.

What you'll be doing:
You'll be joining the core team that owns the backend infrastructure of our product.

Your work will include:

Designing and maintaining high-performance data pipelines and services that process huge volumes of cloud usage data.

Driving infrastructure improvements, boosting performance, scalability, and reliability.

Collaborating on new product features, from early design through to implementation and production.

Partnering with stakeholders across engineering, product, and data teams to define technical requirements and architectural decisions.

Continuously improving our tech stack and dev practices as we scale.

This is not just a “keep the lights on” role; you'll be building and evolving the foundation our product runs on.

We're on the lookout for someone who's been there, built that, and is ready to do it again, with clarity, confidence, and craftsmanship.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

8+ years of backend development experience.

Python as your main programming language for at least the last 4 years or across your 2 most recent roles.

Proven experience building large-scale, high-throughput backend systems, think reliability, latency, and performance.

Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and working in Big Data environments.

Strong experience in cloud environments- AWS preferred, but GCP or Azure is also relevant.

Clear SaaS product experience - building for real users, with production traffic and product stakes.

A mindset for ownership - from design to deployment, with a collaborative approach to working across teams.

A builder's mentality - curious, pragmatic, and always pushing for better code, better systems, and better results.

Bonus points if you bring experience with distributed SQL (e.g., Presto/Trino), container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes).
