Head of Central Planning (Material Planning)
A leading industrial organization in the defense / advanced manufacturing sector is seeking a Head of Central Planning to lead the material planning domain end-to-end within a complex, multi-interface production environment.
Role Overview
The position is responsible for end-to-end material planning leadership, ensuring production continuity, inventory optimization, and cross-functional alignment across engineering, procurement, projects, and manufacturing units.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Material Planning function end-to-end
- Manage MRP runs, generate purchase requisitions and production work orders
- Inventory planning, forecasting, and stock optimization in line with company and division policy
- Full responsibility for the organizational catalog structure
- Manage engineering data transfer processes to production and subcontractors
- Define, optimize, and improve cross-functional processes
- Monitor and manage KPIs: production metrics, inventory levels, critical items, shortages & excess
- Work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Business Units, Project Management, and Manufacturing sites
- Analyze material risks and ensure adherence to production and delivery plans
- Lead and develop a professional planning team
- Daily work with ERP systems, engineering systems, and BI tools
- Willingness to work additional hours when required.
