What is the job:

We are looking for a hands-on Automation Development Team Leader to spearhead the development and evolution of our security & operations automation platform. This is a strategic technical leadership role where you’ll lead a global, cross-functional team (backend, frontend, DevOps), own mission-critical security automations, and ensure performance, scalability, and resilience across our Python-based backend, Angular frontend, and containerized infrastructure.

You’ll help drive operational excellence across Radware’s cloud operations & protection services while mentoring a team of talented engineers and collaborating closely with Product, DevOps, Security, and Customer Success teams.

You should be passionate about building scalable systems, delivering measurable operational outcomes, and mentoring others. A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset is key to success in this role.

What will you do?

Lead and mentor a cross-functional development team across backend (Python), frontend (Angular), and infrastructure (Docker, MongoDB).
Manage, architect and maintain our core automation platform and framework.
Develop resilient and production-grade automations for security workflows, alert handling, and system hardening.
Drive best practices for clean, secure, and scalable code.
Run knowledge-sharing sessions on design patterns, architecture, and AI-assisted development.
Translate complex operational challenges into scalable technical solutions.
Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Implement health monitoring, observability, and alerts to support Cloud Operations KPIs and SLA.
Partner cross-functionally with Cloud Ops, Security Operations (SOC), and NOC, R&D, Product Management, Support, and Field teams to align roadmap and KPIs
Collaborate on design reviews, incident analysis, and postmortem processes.
Contribute to quarterly planning, roadmap execution, and service delivery improvements.

What you need:

Leadership

3+ years of experience leading engineering/DevOps teams in a production/security‑critical environment

Backend Development

5+ years of hands-on development in Python with strong REST API and Flask experience

Frontend Experience

Strong Angular (v12+) skills including state management (NGXS), performance tuning, and UI architecture

DevOps & Infrastructure

Proven expertise in Docker, Linux, Git, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab), and shell scripting

Web & Network Security

Deep knowledge of HTTP, OSI, WAFs, OWASP threats, and DDoS mitigation techniques

Databases & Systems

Experience with MongoDB replica sets, high availability, failover, and tuning

Communication

Excellent verbal and written communication; able to work across multiple teams and time zones

Ability to support the following:

Experience with Ansible, Docker Compose, GitOps workflows
Familiarity with cloud security automation tools and techniques
Previous experience working in cybersecurity, NOC/SOC environments, or product companies
Familiarity with signature‑based WAF rules, OWASP Top 10, DDoS mitigation strategies
