Software Quality Assurance Testing Team Lead

Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors. TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality that utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death.

Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe, and Israel.

Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, and other types of solid cancers.

As part of the effort to extend Novocure’s Quality Assurance department, we are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Testing Team Lead, who will lead the team of SQA test engineers and testers, coordinate tasks with multi-disciplinary teams, and be a hands-on contributor to ensure that all software products meet the highest quality standards.

This is a full-time, exempt position located in our Haifa Israel office and reports to the Software Quality Assurance Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and mentor the SQA testing team, ensuring effective resource allocation and professional growth
Define and implement SQA processes, test plans, and strategies for both manual and automated testing for embedded software as well as web, mobile and PC applications
Oversee the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and scripts
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure testability
Track and report test progress, quality metrics, and defect resolutions
Continuously evaluate and enhance testing tools, practices, and technologies
Proactively raise, escalate and communicate quality issues and potential project risks
Review test plans and reports
Constantly look for ways to improve the SQA testing process and work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent

Knowledge:
5+ years of experience in software testing with expertise in manual and automation testing
3+ years of experience as a SQA Lead, including hiring and building a team
The ability to organize and prioritize activities across multiple projects is essential
Hands-on background in software development
Robust understanding of various types of test strategies and their applicability
Strong knowledge of software test methodologies, tools, and processes
Top-level knowledge of test types and strategies: unit, integration, system, performance, stress etc.
Experience with IEC 62304 – significant advantage
Familiarity with regulations, standards, and guidance for medical devices, including software – advantage
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process and the implications coming from the regulatory standards
Excellent documentation skills and experience operating within a document control framework
Familiarity with one or more programming languages and environments (e.g., C, Python, JavaScript, SQL, Postman, Selenium)
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
Excellent internal communication skills
