Context / Scope/Role Summary:

Senior Art Manager for Casamigos, leads a team of full-time and freelance creatives. Collaborates cross-departmentally with other creatives and executives inside and outside of the company. Is responsible for defining, maintaining, and uphold an ever-evolving brand identity. This person needs to be an expert in the core Adobe Creative Suite as well have an in-depth knowledge of graphic design principles, typographical hierarchy and print/digital production. This person will need to effectively lead in both creative and managerial responsibilities. They will need to guide a team and collaborate in efficiently and expediently ways implementing both high- and low-level projects, adhering to strict brand guidelines and quality expectations.

The role focuses extensively on implementing marketing projects from concept to production in both the print and digital spheres. By working closely with executives, sales team members, marketing and other creatives. The individual will need to communicate effectively and collaborate cross-departmentally. The fast-paced nature of this position requires several nuanced skills: strong organization, project management (individually and for the larger team), flexibility, ability to work independently, ability to discern project scope and creation, strong reading comprehension, maintenance and understanding of up-to-date best practices and a pulse on the latest industry standards, materials and trends.

This is a nuanced position that touches on many projects and has a high volume of output.

Responsibilities

Oversee creative team on implementation of brand guidelines, concepts & strategies across various creative projects.

Oversee vendor proofs for appropriate implementation of brand guidelines, artwork & concepts.

Provide training, guidance, motivation and direction to team members to meet project and creative goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project landmarks.

Review artwork to ensure brand standards and expectations are met, providing guidance on graphic execution.

Suggest edits for copy, including grammatical and spelling errors in addition to creative copy suggestions.

Develop and implement team standards and procedures for working.

Ensure mechanical set-up and file/folder organization adheres to these standards and procedures.

Build a project management plan from the ground up using Asana and Microsoft

Develop and train departments on project management processes and software.

Ensure the department follows production, productivity and quality standards.

Delegate and manage projects, deadlines and designer responsibilities.

Determine proper documentation, resources, scheduling, and project scoping.

Ensure projects are delivered on time and within project scope.

Revise content and presentations, approve/reject ideas and provide feedback to the team.

Communicate with executives to provide guidance on graphic execution and timeline for deliverables.

Collaborate with executives to obtain knowledge of high-level projects and initiatives.

Communicate with Sales Team on custom art requests, develop project timelines based on in-hand dates, create designs and edit copy for promotional materials based on Sales Team information.

Communicate with vendors on specialty print requests including quotes, materials and timelines.

Research and explore new materials and processes to keep on the cutting edge of production and fabrication.

Conceive, build and implement overarching brand guidelines.

Lead brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas.

Write and design unique and well-crafted copy to meet client demands and brand standards.

Work cross-departmentally to create, plan and deliver an integrated and cohesive strategic vision from logos to media outreach campaigns across media platforms.

Lead overall design and execution for advertisements and marketing initiatives while directing team members to develop artwork and layouts.

Ensure imagery and overall design are appropriate and aligned with the brand identity across print and digital spheres

Concept and design towards brand-focused experiential spaces for arenas, stadiums and semi-permanent to permanent bar contracts.

Work with vendors to discuss materials and execution.

Art direct and proof proposals from vendors for brand-focused experiential spaces, focusing on brand representation and authenticity.

Review work from team members for brand standards, grammatical errors, layout adjustments, etc.

Cross-departmental Artwork Collaborations

Freelancer projects

Assign resources, create project plans, track and manage tasks and deliverables, and develop timelines according to priority.

Identify potential roadblocks, mitigate risks on projects, develop contingency planning, and proactively engage in problem-solving.

Provide status reporting to executives, sales team and vendors regarding project breakthroughs, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues.

Maintain BrandMuscle templating platform:

Create a calendar for deliverables.

Maintain templates to reflect the latest brand guidelines and artwork.

Keep the portal up-to-date for the Sales Team.

Identify new artwork needs based on brand development, Sales Team feedback and new product development.

Assess current asset availability to meet developing new artwork needs

Create and review BrandMuscle and Hyble templates for both distributor use and Sales Team use.

Define and implement technical standards for mechanicals that align with templating platform guidance.

Establish file system organization and naming conventions for clear visibility of projects and assets, and retroactively apply it to existing data.

Develop team protocols and manuals for branding, designs, processes and general information.
