Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Network Orchestration group. Our group is responsible for developing scalable, high-performance distributed systems that support complex network infrastructures.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend infrastructure that supports multiple teams and projects across the company. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs, build scalable services, and contribute to architectural decisions that impact the long-term success of the platform.
This position requires deep expertise in backend development, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable, and secure backend solutions.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable and reliable backend services that support multiple teams and projects.
Design and implement robust APIs with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate authentication, authorization, logging, and observability into backend systems.
Contribute to the architecture, design, and evolution of the platforms core services.
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery mechanisms are in place.
Optimize database performance and scalability for SQL and NoSQL databases.
Implement and enforce best practices for API security, authentication, and data integrity.
Work with DevOps teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend services.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and production incidents.
Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and advocate for improvements where necessary.
