As a Backend Engineer on our core team, youll be at the heart of our fraud prevention technology, working closely with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to enhance our core decision-making engine. Your contributions will directly impact the accuracy and speed of our AI-driven fraud detection. You'll design and implement complex backend improvements while ensuring system reliability, uptime, and optimal response times. Additionally, you'll deploy and monitor services in a Kubernetes environment, optimizing performance at scale. Requirements:
BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
Strong proficiency in NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Graph DBs).
Experience building and working with event-driven systems (e.g., using Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS).
Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Experience with automated testing and unit testing frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a curious mindset and a passion for tackling complex engineering challenges.
Strong sense of ownership, taking initiative to improve systems, processes, and overall product performance.
High-level English proficiency (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
Proficiency in Python.
Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts (Classification/Regression, Train/Test split, Precision/Recall, etc.).
Background in fintech, payments, or fraud prevention.
