We are looking for a visionary Principal Data Scientist to step into and take absolute domain ownership of our AI capabilities, and propel our algorithms to industry-dominating heights.

The Role

As the ML & AI Domain Owner, you will be the mastermind behind the predictive and prescriptive brains of our platform. Free from the burden of building data pipelines from scratch (which is entirely covered by our Data Engineering team), your sole focus will be to push the boundaries of our demand forecasting, leverage state-of-the-art AI to uncover hidden market signals, and solve multi-million-dollar mathematical optimization puzzles across routing and allocation.

Key Responsibilities
Domain Ownership: Serve as the technical lead and visionary for all Machine Learning, AI, and Operations Research initiatives within the company.
Demand Forecasting & Predictive ML: Take ownership of our existing ML models. Fine-tune, scale, and evolve our demand prediction engines to handle nuances across different retail sectors (from fast fashion to high-end luxury).
LLM Integration & Enrichment: Lead the strategy for using Large Language Models to enrich structured and unstructured data, uncover consumer trends, and improve the accuracy of our baseline predictive models.
Operations Research & Optimization: Design, build, and deploy advanced optimization algorithms (e.g., linear programming, heuristics, combinatorial optimization) to power our order allocation, return routing, and transportation modules.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with our dedicated Data Engineering team to ensure the unified schema perfectly feeds your models. Collaborate with product managers to translate complex AI outputs into actionable insights for retailers.
Scalability & MLOps: Ensure our models are highly scalable, robust, and effectively monitored in production across a growing portfolio of enterprise clients.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI, with a proven track record of deploying models into production environments.
Predictive Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of advanced machine learning algorithms, specifically tree-based models (LightGBM, XGBoost) and complex time-series forecasting.
Generative AI: Hands-on experience working with LLMs (prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG) to enrich datasets and extract valuable signals.
Optimization Skills: Strong background in mathematical optimization, Operations Research, or prescriptive analytics (e.g., solving vehicle routing, facility location, or inventory allocation problems).
Technical Stack: Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow) and optimization solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, or PuLP).
Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in retail, supply chain, logistics, or e-commerce is highly preferred.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to own a domain, make high-level architectural decisions, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
