We are seeking a skilled FinOps professional to join our team and drive financial optimization across our cloud infrastructure. As a FinOps Analyst/Manager, you will collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure cost-efficient cloud usage, develop financial strategies, and support decision-making with actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting:
* Analyze cloud spending trends and forecast future costs based on usage patterns.
* Collaborate with finance teams to align budgets and provide detailed cost reporting.
* Monitor and manage cloud spend, identifying anomalies and areas for optimization.
* Establish and track key FinOps metrics (e.g., cost per workload, efficiency ratios). Optimization & Efficiency:
* Partner with engineering teams to implement cost-saving measures like rightsizing resources, reserved instances, and spot instances.
* Identify and eliminate unused or underutilized resources.
* Advocate for sustainable architecture practices to ensure cost-efficiency at scale. Process Development:
* Develop and enforce cloud cost management policies and best practices.
* Drive automation of reporting and alerting for cost anomalies.
* Design and maintain FinOps playbooks for resource allocation, tagging, and budgeting. Collaboration & Communication:
* Work closely with engineering teams to balance performance, cost, and scalability needs.
* Act as a liaison between finance and technology teams, translating technical usage into financial implications.
* Lead cross-functional training sessions to increase FinOps awareness

Requirements:
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Google Cloud Billing, Azure Cost Management).
* Experience with FinOps platforms like CloudHealth, CloudCheckr, or Spot.io.
* Familiarity with scripting languages ( Python, Bash) for automation. Financial Acumen:
* Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis principles.
* Experience interpreting and analyzing financial reports related to cloud expenditures. Soft Skills:
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications:
* FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification.
* Experience in a DevOps, CloudOps, or SRE environment.
* Knowledge of containerized workloads and Kubernetes cost management.
