About AMHSI Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI) is a pluralistic, Zionist, academic study-abroad program that seeks strengthen Jewish identity and fosters connection to the Jewish people, the land, and the State of Israel. Position Overview: The School Nurse is responsible for supporting student medical readiness, routine health oversight, staff guidance, medical documentation, and appropriate follow-up. The role is designed as a 50% position, combining scheduled on-campus presence, medical administrative work, staff coordination, and defined evening consultation availability.

The role should be understood as medical oversight, guidance, documentation, and consultation. Student Life and Program Management remain responsible for broader student supervision and operational implementation.

Location: Hod Hasharon, Israel Reports to: School Doctor

This is a part-time position (approximately 50%) including at least 2 evenings as on call.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Direct On-Campus Medical Presence

· Be physically present on campus during scheduled weekly hours.

· Prioritize arrival days, orientation days, trip days, and other high-need program days.

· Be available to students and staff during defined campus hours.

· Provide basic medical assessment, guidance, and referral when needed.

· Support Student Life in handling routine student health matters.

· Build familiarity with students and staff so medical support is accessible and visible.

2. Evening Consultation Availability

· Be available during a defined evening consultation window on program evenings, generally for a couple of hours.

· Provide guidance to Student Life or relevant staff if medical questions or concerns arise.

· Advise whether a situation can be monitored, requires parent communication, or should be escalated.

· Support decision-making while emergency situations continue to follow the school’s emergency protocol.

· This availability is part of the role and should be counted as work time, not treated as open-ended availability.

3. Medical Intake, Review, and Risk Flagging

· Collect and review student medical forms and health information.

· Identify allergies, medications, medical conditions, emotional or physical health needs, and other relevant concerns.

· Flag cases requiring parent follow-up, physician clarification, staff awareness, or internal escalation.

· Ensure that medical needs are understood before students arrive or as early as possible during the program.

· Help determine whether proposed solutions are realistic, appropriate, and safe.

4. Documentation, Bureaucracy, and Follow-Up

· Maintain organized student medical files and reporting systems.

· Follow up on missing forms, parent clarifications, and required documentation.

· Document medical incidents, follow-up actions, and relevant communication.

· Support filing or reporting to relevant providers, authorities, insurance, or internal systems where needed.

· Coordinate with parents, external medical providers, and relevant staff when follow-up is required.

5. Staff Guidance, Meetings, and Program Coordination

· Share relevant medical guidance with Student Life, Program Managers, trip staff, teachers, and other staff when needed.

· Translate medical information into practical staff guidance while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

· Participate in relevant Student Life, Program Management, or operational meetings as needed.

· Support the medical component of student orientation.

· Join case discussions when medical issues affect student support, programming, trips, or safety.

Qualifications:

· * Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (LPN) in Israel, with current certification and good standing.

· * At least 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably including work with adolescents or in educational settings.

· * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and external providers.

· * Experience managing medical documentation, records, and follow-up processes.

· * Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment in non-routine situations

· * Cultural sensitivity and the ability to support a diverse international student population.

· * Comfort using electronic systems for records, reporting, and coordination.
