Staff Scientist in Cancer Research

The Cancer Heterogeneity lab headed by Prof. Itay Tirosh is looking for a staff scientist with deep interest in cancer, and with expertise in either experimental biology, computational biology or ideally with both.

The lab is investigating cellular heterogeneity within and across tumors, primarily through extensive single cell and spatial analysis of patient tumor samples obtained from hospitals, with the ultimate goal to develop new therapeutic strategies.

The staff scientist will lead specific research projects, mentor students, and write grants and manuscripts.

The lab is primarily computational but also has an experimental component, and therefore there are two general options (or their combination): a mostly-experimental staff scientist that will primarily lead the experimental component of the lab while also interacting with the computational students; or a mostly-computational staff scientist that will have a dominant role in computational projects and in mentoring computational students.

PhD in Life Sciences or in a related computational field, with a good publication record.

Experience in cancer biology, single cell genomics, data-science or related fields.

Excellent interpersonal, managerial and teamwork skills
