We are a leading global cultivated meat company. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated upstream bioprocess engineer to join our Engineering R&D team, which focuses on the bioreactor stage of our cultured meat production process.
Summary of role and team::
In this team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our cultured meat product pipeline, as well as finding innovative ways to improve our manufacturing processerss. It is a great opportunity to join a fun, hard working group who wants to make a real impact on how we feed future generations while preserving our environment.
Your day-to-day:
* Idea generation via literature searching and debriefing on relevant prior knowledge within the company.
* Experimental design.
* Bioreactor operation (setup, sampling, decision making on key process parameters and set point throughout run) including perfusion operation.
* Assembly and preparation of bioreactors and supporting equipment.
* Training on new systems, including bioreactor control platforms, perfusion devices, centrifuges, analytical devices, and more.
* Coordinating and communicating your work within the team and with other departments / interfaces.
* Work with closed sterile bioprocess systems.
* data analysis and proposing next steps.
* Presenting in group and departmental meetings.
* Project management.
* Supporting your fellow team mates.

Requirements:
The Ideal candidate:
Must-Have:
* Bachelors degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.
* Two years experience in bioprocessing, including skills in relevant areas, -Bioreactor operation -Aseptic cell culture -Basic cell culture analytics (cell counting, bioanalyzer) -Pumping/filling/filtering liquids.
* Willingness to run processes hands-on, generally high level of independence.
* Motivation to learn new skills and equipment.
* Positive attitude and must be a team player.
* Research skills.
* Good communication and presentation skills.
* English proficiency.
Nice to Have:
* Graduate degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.
* Project management experience.
* Advanced bioprocessing skills such as: -Aseptic closed systems and assemblies (weldable/sealable) -Cell separation systems such as continuous centrifugation, ATF/TFF -Media development or media formulation.
* Knowledge of bioreactor engineering and scale up principles, such as kLa, CFD modeling, PID control, etc.
* Experience growing industrial suspension animal cell lines such as CHO/HEK, and/or cultured meat cell lines.
