Director of Architecture

As the Director of Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of a global leading tech company. You will lead a team of talented architects in designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable software solutions. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional technical acumen, strong leadership skills, and a passion for innovation. The product operates in a fully cloud-native environment, leveraging state-of-the-art cloud technologies. As the Director of Architecture, you will wield significant influence and responsibility over a global-scale service distributed across multiple cloud platforms, spanning thousands of servers worldwide and generating petabytes of data.
Responsibilities
* Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance, and reliable software architectures that align with Rakuten Vibers business goals and technological vision.
* Technical Excellence: Provide technical oversight and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of architectural designs and solutions.
* Platform Engineering: Lead the design and implementation of scalable and resilient platform architectures leveraging technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and other containerization and orchestration tools. Ensure compatibility and optimization for a multi-cloud environment.
* Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of architects, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
* Technology Strategy: Be a part of building the companys strategy and drive the development and execution of technology strategies and roadmaps that support our long-term objectives.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between architectural decisions and product requirements.
* Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve existing architectures, processes, and systems to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Operations at Scale: Oversee the operations at a global scale, ensuring seamless performance, reliability, and availability across multiple cloud platforms. Implement cost-effective strategies and optimizations to maximize resource utilization and minimize operational expenses.
* Industry Trends: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain Rathe companies' competitive edge.
