Empathy supports individuals and families in need through partnerships with financial institutions, life insurers, and employers. We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead our enterprise product initiatives, deepening our impact, extending our reach, and creating more value for our partners.

We’re looking for a hands-on Director of Security to step into a CISO-track role and lead the charge in shaping and communicating our security posture. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in startup environments and is ready to take ownership of a critical function that directly supports our go-to-market efforts.

Requirements:

6-10 years in security roles, with recent experience leading security in a startup or growth-stage company.
Strong communicator with a customer-facing presence and native-level English.
Comfortable working directly with enterprise clients in regulated industries (finance, insurance, employers).
Startup experience - you’re used to wearing multiple hats and building from scratch.
Deep understanding of security and compliance frameworks relevant to SaaS.
Ready to operate as an IC for now, with a path to build a team as needs grow.
Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS).

In this role you will:

Own and evolve our security and compliance programs (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc…).
Be the face of security for our customers - helping sales teams close deals, responding to security questionnaires, and adapting our practices to meet client requirements.
Define, document, and communicate our security posture clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Partner cross-functionally with Legal, IT, People, and Engineering to implement tools, policies, and processes.
Own risk management and mitigation across the business.
Build toward a scalable security function that can grow with the company.
