Producer, Mid East

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is Australia's national broadcaster. We are the nation's most trusted and independent source of News and Current Affairs. 

*Purpose*

Provide comprehensive research, production and administrative support to the Middle East Correspondents to facilitate the smooth and efficient running of the bureau and generate original impactful journalism for Australian audiences.

*Key Accountabilities*

*Editorial*

· Assist the correspondents by researching and producing a wide variety of digital-first news and current affairs content for all ABC News platform types (Video, Audio, Digital and Social) with depth, immediacy, and accuracy.

· Regularly propose and develop original story ideas for Australian audiences.

· Ability to generate stories autonomously and at the direction of the correspondents, as required.

· Conduct interviews for other journalists or other ABC programs, as required.

· Work as directed by the Mid-East Correspondents in achieving these objectives.

· Support correspondents in actively expanding the ABC's Online and Digital News coverage.

· Monitor, translate and clip local media reports and press conferences

· Clipping, compiling and sending material when required

· Keep across Australian news agenda, as relevant to the region.

*Office Management*

· Arrange travel and any visa and accreditation applications.

· Maintain office diary with ABC International

· Maintain contact lists and hiring of freelance local staff as required

· Assist in repatriating expat ABC staff at start / end of posting.

· Assisting Jerusalem Office bookkeeper with general office administration

· Actively promote and apply all relevant policies and guidelines including Editorial Policies, Equity and Diversity and WHS.

· Adhere to ABC values in the workplace.

· Complete detailed risk assessments and plan logistics in consultation with International Management to facilitate assignments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 230,000.00₪ - 260,000.00₪ per year
