QA Automation Lead

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on, forward-thinking QA Automation Lead to join our core development group. This is a unique opportunity to shape Anodot's testing strategy and quality processes from the ground up, in a high-scale, data-driven cloud environment.

This is a hybrid role:

60–70% hands-on testing and automation development
30–40% ownership of QA strategy, tooling, and methodology

There are no direct reports, but you'll serve as the technical authority for all QA-related topics, working closely with engineers, product managers, DevOps, designers, and data teams across our fast-moving R&D organization. You'll report directly to the VP R&D and occasionally embed with different dev squads based on project needs.

What You'll Do

Design and implement scalable testing strategies across web, backend, and data pipelines
Build and maintain robust automation frameworks and reusable test components
Write and execute both automated and manual tests for APIs, backend services, and UI flows
Investigate complex issues across distributed systems, analyzing logs, data, and environments
Query and analyze data across various systems and databases
Drive measurable improvements in test coverage, execution time, and release quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and timely delivery
Participate in technical discussions, release planning, and (when relevant) code reviews
Introduce new testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks — including exploring AI-powered QA solutions
Serve as a mentor and knowledge source as the QA function evolves and grows

What You Bring

4+ years of hands-on testing experience across web, backend, and APIs
2+ years working with modern automation tools (Testim.io, Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
Strong technical skills working with databases, browser DevTools, and debugging logs
Experience designing end-to-end tests for large-scale, data-driven SaaS systems
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Deep understanding of QA methodologies, test strategy, and best practices
Analytical thinking, solid prioritization, and strong problem-solving skills
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
A proactive, product-oriented mindset: you care about what users experience and how to make it better

Bonus Points For:

Knowledge of billing systems, FinOps, or cloud cost management
Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
Experience building QA in early-stage or scaling tech environments
Interest or hands-on experience applying AI tools to accelerate or improve QA processes
