Purchasing Buyer

The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for generating and managing purchase orders, ensuring supplier confirmations are received, and updating the system according to company procedures. The role includes monitoring the fulfillment of approved orders, identifying and selecting suppliers, and managing supplier performance. Additionally, the buyer will handle product returns, approve invoices, and coordinate payments with the finance department. The position involves interfacing with customs brokers for import shipments, monitoring market prices, negotiating with suppliers, and managing procurement data and price lists. The buyer will also collaborate with various internal departments and source new suppliers locally and internationally.

Requirements:

A relevant degree – required.
At least two years of experience in a purchasing role in a manufacturing company – required.
Proficiency in Office applications – required (specifically high proficiency in Excel).
High understanding of procurement processes and relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
Experience working with ERP systems.
High service orientation and the ability to work under pressure.
Problem-solving ability, assertiveness, systemic thinking, and planning skills.

Responsibilities:

Track open orders and requirements.
Negotiate with suppliers to improve processes, reduce costs, and maximize contract terms.
Monitor shipments until they are received in the warehouse.
Process supplier invoices and payments.
Manage local and international suppliers.
Interface with customs brokers for the import of goods.
Conduct supplier evaluations to ensure high standards.
Regular interaction with various departments within and outside the organization, both locally and globally.
