R&D Team Leader - Audex

Are you a passionate and driven leader seeking your next high-impact challenge? The Audience Extension (Audex) team is looking for a Team Leader to help drive one of Taboola's most strategic growth areas — enabling advertisers to reach new audiences beyond our owned-and-operated network.

About the Opportunity
Imagine empowering Taboola's advertisers to extend their reach to premium placements in the open web and even in closed gardens. This is the core mission of the Audex team - tapping into massive new revenue streams by buying indirect inventory via RTB, all while optimizing at scale for performance and profitability.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

2+ years of experience managing engineers or leading large-scale projects
4+ years of hands-on backend development in Java or a similar OOP language
Proven track record in designing and building large-scale distributed systems
Solid CS fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, multi-threaded programming
Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and Big Data tools
BSc in Computer Science or equivalent
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
How you'll make an impact:

As a Team Leader for Audience Extension (Audex), you'll bring value by:

Lead a team of highly skilled backend engineers building infrastructure and features used by thousands of sites and over 1.4 billion users globally
Drive strategic integrations with off-network and closed-garden environments
Work closely with key stakeholders across Product, Business, and PS (Professional Services) to align bidder-related initiatives and ensure end-to-end execution
Own and scale systems handling 500K+ requests per second, generating over 100TB of new data daily
Utilize a cutting-edge tech stack including Java 8, Spring, Reactor Core, Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, MySQL, Vertica, Kubernetes, Grafana, Tableau, and more
Collaborate with experienced tech leads, engineers, and product managers to define the team's roadmap and technical vision
Foster a culture of growth, accountability, and continuous improvement - with a strong focus on team productivity and personal development
