A Day in the Life
At Medtronic Endoscopy, we aim to improve patient outcomes by empowering every gastroenterologist across the globe with artificial intelligence and disruptive therapeutic technologies. We have an exciting opportunity to continue strengthening our product development pipeline with a new opening – Senior R&D (research and development) Project Management Specialist. You will be part of a collaborative cross-functional team and will be responsible for R&D project management aspects of a high priority product innovation program.

The Endoscopy Operating Unit has created a business out of disrupting the status quo in the detection, prevention, and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and chronic diseases. We’ve done this by commercializing transformational technologies that improve patient management and standards of care, while increasing access to our innovations across the globe.
In this role, you will be working with our PillCam™ Cloud Reader Software, a cutting-edge technology that provides a secure platform for uploading PillCam™ SB 3 capsule studies to a cloud-based environment for remote reading, treatment recommendations, and report creation.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Design and develop scalable server-side applications and services to support business requirements.
Implement and maintain APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to facilitate seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.
Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity through effective schema design and query optimization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Ensure the security and scalability of back-end solutions.
Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure software quality.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve development processes.
Working according to software procedures, coding standouts and clean architectures rules.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Proven experience as a backend Engineer for a minimum 3 years.
Proficiency in programming languages such as, Python, or C#
Experience with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git
Understanding of RESTful API design principles
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Experience in the healthcare or medical technology industry.
