As Immunology BUM at J&J, you will be an integral part of our Commercial team reporting to the commercial director & member of the Extended leadership team.
The Immunology Business Unit Manager will be responsible for driving the commercial strategy and excellent execution. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market, excellent business acumen, and the ability to drive results through effective team management and strategic planning.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marketing & sales, managing products in different life cycle stages within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement the commercial strategy for the business unit.
Set and achieve sales targets and market share objectives.
Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitive threats.
2. Launch and LOE (lose of exclusivity) Planning
Lead the development of launch strategies for pipeline products, collaborating with medical, access, pricing, regulatory, supply, PSP, government, communication etc. to ensure a coordinated and effective prelaunch/launch strategy.
Prepare for LOE
Team and Cross functional Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing commercial team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide regular performance feedback and conduct annual performance reviews.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Medical, Regulatory Affairs, external affairs to ensure alignment and integration of commercial consideration.
Sales and Marketing Management:
Oversee the development and execution of sales and marketing plans.
Coordinate with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
Forecasting and Financial Management:
Develop and manage the budget for the business unit.
Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
Market and Competitive Intelligence:
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the product portfolio and therapeutic areas.
7. Market Access and Reimbursement
Collaborate with Market Access and Health Economics teams to develop market access strategies and secure reimbursement for pipeline products, ensuring optimal patient access and commercial success.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Life Science or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
5 years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial roles, experience in lunched products – advantage
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, including market access, reimbursement, and regulatory requirements.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial strategies for pharmaceutical products.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and project management skills.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize opportunities in a complex and dynamic environment
Proven experience as Business Unit Manager in pharmaceutical company
