Director of Product Line Management

NewPhotonics is disrupting data center processing with novel photonic engines solving the power and performance challenges. We are looking for a Director of Product Line Management to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping the technological landscape of our organization. The successful candidate for this position has a track record of strength and aptitude relevant to the following areas:

Lead technical discussions with worldwide OEMs and Tier1 companies to translate future projects requirements into product definitions.

Serve as a knowledge source in your field, enabling strategic decision-making on NewPhotonics product roadmap.

Interact with all R&D disciplines, testing, and engineering teams to lead new product implementation within the company.

Draw high-level product requirements based on management directives and inputs from customer project managers.

Manage the roll-out of the products to lead customers and product lifecycle management through the development process all the way to and through the production phases.

Support sales & marketing in pursuing and winning key customers by producing collaterals and articulating key advantages and value propositions of NewPhotonics products through detailed customer proposals.

Develop pricing guidelines, margin analysis, and forecasts establishing competitiveness and profitability of NewPhotonics products in support of corporate financial goals and revenue planning.

Cultivate key partnerships with primary industry suppliers of adjacent components and solutions, including lasers, TIAs, Drivers and microcontrollers.

Support executives in material to brief top industry press, analysts, and investors relative to NewPhotonics product strategies, competitive advantages, and other industry trends.

Be extremely hands-on in writing and reviewing product requirements and documentation.

Requirements:

8 years of relevant work experience in product management, product marketing,

applications engineering, and business development roles with at least 3 years in product

management driving high-complexity semiconductor products to volume production

Strong background in electro-optical devices & systems - system engineering experience of

electro-optical systems - an advantage

Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and data center vendor space, especially as it

relates to highly integrated switch/interconnect products and optical networking products.

Experience driving products through the full development cycle from business

case/definition through development, design-in, production, and EOL cycles.

Strong knowledge of system/card-level hardware ecosystem, ODM’s, optical interconnects,

and costing models

Experience building and owning budgets, forecasts and providing strategic insight based on

key performance metrics.

A data-driven and analytical approach; ability to translate numbers into actionable

strategies.

Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing

priorities and who finds satisfaction in being accountable to accomplishing results quickly

and accurately.

Strong communication, influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to create

clarity and drive focus in complex and dynamic contexts.

Strong leadership and mentorship skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Electrical Engineering background or related engineering field, especially with a focus on

silicon photonics or optical communications

Strong end-to-end understanding of all aspects of semiconductor chip development

Strong industry knowledge of the data center, AI and ML market dynamics related to

hardware and network infrastructure.
