Senior Data Engineer (2025)

This high-impact role is at the core of Peer39’s data architecture, where you will help drive our evolution to modern lakehouse-style architectures and cutting-edge big data solutions. Your work will enable high throughput and low-latency analytics and insights across massive datasets. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing robust, scalable lakehouse data platforms, developing high-performance data pipelines, optimizing query performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful data solutions. This position requires a strong foundation in data engineering principles, a passion for clean code, and the ability to monitor and troubleshoot mission-critical data workflows in a production-grade environment.
- 6+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
- Expert SQL developer
- Experience with DBT
- Apache Airflow development experience
- Advanced development experience with Spark, Trino, Druid, and Athena
- Proven skills with Python
- Deep familiarity with AWS stack, including S3, Lambda, Glue, EC2, and CloudWatch
- Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning, performance tuning, and columnar formats (Parquet, ORC)
