Key Responsibilities
Engineer Cost Observability: Integrate with advanced cost monitoring and visualization solutions. Leverage tools and technologies to gain deep insights into cloud spending patterns, identify cost anomalies, and pinpoint areas for optimization.
Orchestrate Cost Allocation: Develop and maintain sophisticated cost allocation models that accurately map cloud expenses to business units, projects, and applications. This will enable informed decision-making and accountability for cloud resource consumption.
Champion Cost Efficiency: Leverage your technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in cloud resource utilization. Implement automation strategies, right-size resources, and optimize infrastructure configurations to maximize performance while minimizing costs.
Quantify Unit Economics: Develop and maintain robust models to analyse and track unit economics for our cloud-based products and services. This will provide critical insights into the profitability of our offerings and guide strategic business decisions.
Establish Cost Governance: Define and enforce cloud cost governance policies and processes. Implement budget controls, alerts, and automated actions to prevent overspending and ensure compliance with cost optimization targets.
Qualifications
Proven experience of ~2 years as a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role with a strong focus on cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred).
Solid understanding of Cloud computing concepts, including infrastructure-as-code, serverless computing, and containerization.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data sets and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Experience with cost management tools (CloudWatch Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Cost Management) is a plus.
Passion for FinOps principles and a strong desire to contribute to a data-driven culture of cost optimization.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
