Experienced Software Engineer

Pipl is the identity trust company. Our solutions allow organizations to provide frictionless customer experiences and approve more transactions with greater confidence and speed. We use multivariate linking to establish deep connections among more than 330 billion trust signals—email, mobile phone and social media data that spans the globe—and then look at the big picture to derive identity trust.

We’re looking for an Experienced Software Developer to play a key role in our Core Backend Team. If you have a passion for responsibility along with algorithmic problem-solving and implementation, big-data challenges and wish to participate in building high-quality products, this one is for you!

In your day-to-day life, you’ll be leading, planning and developing our core backend services - the heart of our product. Challenges can come in many shapes as an implementation of production-grade algorithms, monitoring, maintaining and improving existing ones, analyzing performance metrics, designing, and building heavy data processing using the latest big data tools, CI-CD, and cloud technologies.

Requirements:

4+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems/infrastructure
Implementation/maintenance of complex platforms
Proficiency in Java – Must
Experience with OO languages such as Python or Kotlin – an advantage
Experience working in a production environment (handling real-time traffic, troubleshooting, monitoring, incident management, etc.)
A great individual contributor, able to present your vision and to work as part of a multidisciplinary task force
Excellent communication skills

Bonus points:

Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, GCP, etc)
CI-CD pipelines such as GitHub action workflows
Hands-on experience with relational and/ or non-relational DBs: MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Redis, MongoDB or similar
