The VITEC office in Israel plays a critical role in streaming video and software technology. With the award-winning EZ TV IPTV, the talented team in Herzliya contributed significantly to the platform that won an Engineering and Technical Emmy Award, received at NAB 2022.

We are looking for a Back-End Developer to develop our next-generation top IPTV and Digital Signage solutions. Used by NBA and NFL teams, NASA bases, hospitals, and major broadcasters, our products provide smooth and reliable media experiences in high-demand environments.

As part of our team of developers, you will work in Linux and Microsoft-based environments with Java and C#, building and improving a scalable and high-performance backend. Your work will directly impact a platform that delivers fast, reliable, and innovative solutions to top organizations worldwide.

What You’ll Do:

Develop and improve our next-generation product’s backend systems for better performance and reliability.
Debug, test, and optimize backend performance.
Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Product teams to ensure smooth operations.
Write clean, maintainable code using SOLID principles and OOP best practices.
Keep up with new backend technologies and industry trends.

Must have:

Java Backend Development: Strong experience with Java (JDK 8 or higher) and frameworks like Wildly, quartz, or Jakarta EE.
Linux Expertise: Proficient in working within Linux-based environments (e.g., Rocky9, Red Hat, etc.), managing Linux servers, shell scripting (Bash, AWK, etc.), experience with containerization technologies like podman on Linux, and optimizing backend services on Linux.
Database Knowledge: Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including schema design and performance optimization.
Web Services & APIs: Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and web service integration.
Version Control: Experience with Git (GitLab) branching strategies.
Nginx: Experience with Nginx for serving static content, configuring reverse proxies, load balancing, and improving system performance.
CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of continuous integration/deployment best practices and familiarity with tools like GitLab CI.
Basic Security Principles: Experience implementing secure coding practices and ensuring the protection of sensitive data.
Knowledge of SOLID principles and OOP best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Advantages):

C# & IIS: Familiarity with systems built in C# and hosted on IIS, including troubleshooting, and maintenance.
DevOps Practices: Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines, Builds & Releases.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments with Scrum, Kanban, or similar frameworks.
Jira: Strong knowledge of Jira for tracking tasks, managing agile workflows (Scrum/Kanban), and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience with Redis, and RabbitMQ.
Understanding of digital video technologies and streaming protocols.
