General Manager - New Business Unit

Quantum Machines is expanding into a significant new market, and we’re looking for an exceptional individual to lead the charge. This is a rare opportunity to operate with the resources and credibility of an established, well-funded technology company while building something from the ground up.You will own a nascent but fast-growing business line end-to-end from go-to-market strategy and customer relationships to product direction and technical roadmap. You’ll lead a small, focused team (sales & marketing, product, architecture, and engineering). Early market traction already exists; your job is to turn that into a real business.The specific domain is confidential at this stage and will be shared with shortlisted candidates. What we can tell you: it is deeply technical, sits at the intersection of advanced hardware and software, and represents a meaningful new direction for the company.What You’ll DoDirect and lead the business unit from day oneDefine and continuously refine the go-to-market approach, pricing, and positioningWork closely with customers and prospects to qualify opportunities, close deals, and feed market insight back into the productSet product and technical priorities for your team, in close collaboration with Quantum Machines’ engineering organization — you direct what gets built, and the engineering org ensures it gets built wellRecruit, lead, and develop a small multidisciplinary teamRequirements:We are looking for outstanding candidates who can bridge the three corners of the triangle: Technology, Business and Entrepreneurship. We recognize that few people cover all three fully and believe that strong motivation and distinctive strengths can make up for experience gaps. Accordingly, we are looking for candidates who cover as many of the following areas as possible though not necessarily all of them:A track record of building or growing a technology business, product line, or venture — ideally from early traction to scale.A track record of leading the development of a product or technology.Hands-on experience with qubits or QPUs (the more of the following, the merrier): qubits/QPU measurements, cryogenics, control electronics, control software, fabrication.Quantum savviness - prior exposure to quantum computing, advanced electronics, or adjacent deep-tech fields.Strong business instincts: you can construct a business case, read a market, and make sound resource and prioritization decisions under uncertainty .Technical depth and passion for tech even if you don’t write code, you’ll need to earn the respect of engineers and be able to make informed technical decisions based on a real understanding of technological aspects.Willingness and excitement to do hands-on work to whatever extent is needed .High agency and comfort with ambiguity this role is not for someone who needs a playbook or micro-management .Excellent communication skills, both with customers and internally with senior leadership.Experience working with or selling into technical buyers (engineers, CTOs, research organizations, or similar).
