Research Associate in Computational Chemistry

Job Summary:
The Weizmann Institute of Science invites applications for a Research Associate position in computational chemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to groundbreaking research focused on investigating reaction mechanisms using advanced computational techniques. Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-level density functional theory (DFT) computations to explore reaction mechanisms in organic and organometallic systems.

Develop and apply computational models to investigate the mechanistic pathways of complex chemical processes.

Analyze and interpret computational data to support experimental findings.

Collaborate with experimental chemists to design and validate mechanistic hypotheses.

QXualifications and Requirements:

PhD in computational chemistry, theoretical chemistry, or a closely related field.

Proven exertise in DFT computations and computational methodologies.

Proficiency in using computational chemistry software (e.g., Gaussian, ORCA, ADF, etc.).

Understanding of organic chemistry and organometallic reaction mechanisms is an advantage.

Experience in scripting or programming for data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB, etc.) is an advantage.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
