Head of DevOps

The role is open in the international IT startup - an educational platform based on artificial intelligence. The company's office is located in the UAE. The role is fully remote. We are looking for a skilled Head of DevOps to join our team. If you have extensive experience in DevOps, strong knowledge of AWS and automation tools, and want to drive innovation in AI-powered education, join us to revolutionize language learning.

Salary: up to $130 000 /year gross.

_*Responsibilities*_
* Lead the strategic development and execution of the DevOps strategy to meet business goals, mentoring the team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement. Set infrastructural objectives focusing on availability, cost efficiency, fault tolerance, and DORA metrics.
* Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for backend and mobile applications, utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CDK, and develop automation tools in Python.
* Implement DevOps best practices, educate product teams on methodologies, and integrate the AWS Well-Architected Framework into infrastructure designs.
* Oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure platform reliability, conduct system audits, and implement strategies to minimize downtime.
* Collaborate with development teams for smooth deployments and rapid iterations, and serve as the point of contact for DevOps-related issues.
* Ensure platform security and compliance with regulatory standards.

_*Requirements*_
* *Over 5 years of proven experience in senior DevOps roles, including three years in a leadership capacity, preferably in a startup environment.*
* Highly skilled in *Python* for automation, with extensive experience in *AWS CDK* and other Infrastructure as Code tools.
* Proficient in setting up CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and CircleCI, and well-versed in backend and mobile app deployment workflows.
* Strong knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
* Excellent understanding of Git and version control practices, with additional experience in MLOps considered a significant asset.
* Outstanding communication skills, *fluent in English*, and adept at collaborating across teams.
* Familiar with the *AWS Well-Architected Framework *and demonstrated ability to lead teams and set strategic directions.
* AWS certification is highly desired.
