About the Role
The Project Officer is a new role for NMMS and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading projects, ranging from refurbishment to large-scale capital projects. These projects will increase NMMS resilience and sustainability and will involve significant internal and external stakeholder management. The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring projects are carried out efficiently and to the required time and budget constraints as well as any other legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on the development of NMMS Project Strategy including identifying potential projects, establishing realistic targets and creating timescales for these.
Support the strategic development of NMMS by managing and implementing both large and small scale projects.
Deliver a variety of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest possible standards while meeting targets.
Manage the day-to-day aspects of projects and liaise closely with members of NMMS Management Team.
Support the Development Officer with information required for fundraising applications.
Work with the Finance Manager to ensure projects are kept to budget.
Communicate regularly with the wider NMMS team to effectively manage the projects and ensure these are fit for intended purposes.
Coordinate project related meetings including scheduling, agendas and writing minutes.
Maintaining risk assessments for projects.
Improve your own skills and knowledge by taking part within relevant professional bodies and undertaking training as required.
Attend NMMS meetings as required.
Comply with NMMS policies and procedures.
Undertake any duties at the request of the Line Manager which are commensurate with the role, including other work within the Trust.
Skills an Experience
Essential
Extensive project managementexperience
Prior experience, or knowledge of,project management techniques e.g.GANNT charts.
Experience of managing and monitoringproject work delivered by both yourself and others
Experience of working and communicating with a wide range ofstakeholders
Experience of working with external providers/contractors
An awareness of Health and Safety requirements
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, written and verbal
Proven IT skills including Microsoft
Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage own time
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to evaluate projects.
Ability to use initiative, be proactive, and self motivated
Able to work effectively under pressure
Desirable
Knowledge of public procurement
Experience of scheduling, attending and managing meetings
Experience in museum/visitor attraction or similar environment
Knowledge or understanding of financial processes
Relevant qualification or equivalent experience
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to develop professional relationships and networks
Able to hit the ground running
