The Role

Veeva is operating and building a data platform that allows the processing of huge amounts of medical data while preserving patient privacy. To achieve that goal, our systems are deployed with multiple leading data providers in a variety of cloud and on-prem environments with unique security requirements. We are looking for a Senior DevOPs engineer who will assist us to ensure a smooth deployment and operation, complying with strict standards and adherence to best industry practices and with a potential and desire to own production systems and to perfect it.
What You'll Do
Work with Product, R&D, and integration teams to define and implement CI/CD to apply in multiple target environments for production, staging, and testing in AWS, GCP, and Azure
Assist product in gathering and generalizing requirements from business partners
Optimize environments for security, performance, and cost; optimize processes for speed
Oversee and guide the team and business partners on the implementation of best practices
Define and integrate monitoring solutions
Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, FileBeat, OpenSearch, and other tools to set up environments in a variety of scales and security levels
Become a product deployment and operation expert
Requirements
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
5+ years building and managing secure distributed production environments in the cloud
5+ years of experience in software lifecycle management for large-scale production systems, collaborating with product and engineering teams
2+ years serving as a technical decision-maker
Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker/Kubernetes, Linux
Proficiency in cloud security practices
Strong technical presentation abilities
Proven mentorship skills
English proficiency
Nice to Have
Linux system administration experience
Java/MySQL
Certified AWS Solutions Architect
