We are looking for a Hands-On Backend Team Lead to join our team and make a real impact in our R&D department! As a Backend Team Lead, your mission will be to lead a team of software engineers toward the development of exciting new products while staying close to the ground with hands-on coding. You will influence the team's technical direction as well as onboard, mentor, and manage talented developers. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the full development life cycle, including design, architecture, and collaboration with product stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable code using agile methodologies.
We seek someone extremely technical with leadership experience who loves to solve interesting tech challenges, can see the big picture, and demonstrates a strong sense of ownership paired with excellent communication skills.
This position will be based out of our Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem hubs

Requirements:

BS.c degree in Computer Science or a related technical field of study.
7+ years experience as a hands-on backend developer in a SaaS B2B startup
4+ years experience in Team Leadership of a team of 5+ people
Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions.

What you will be responsible for:

Hands-on development (~80%)
Management: onboard, mentor and manage a small team in all HR aspects (time off, 1:1, plan and evaluate employee growth, etc.)
Break down and plan tasks, including high-level design
Run team sync meetings to identify blockers and communicate cross-team
Monitor the system's stability
Develop high-level estimations for all work items
Manage the Jira board and inter-team communication
Push for shipping high-quality products on time
Own relevant repos, codebase, CI/CD pipeline, and DevOps of the team’s infrastructure
Own tech decisions and initiate decision-making discussions
Update, upgrade, monitor, and replace 3rd party libs
