Practical Mechanical Engineer

Description:

The Practical Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical engineering designs, and product development. You will oversee the mechanical design and development, ensuring that products meet the applicable standards of quality, maturity of production documentation, and manufacturability. Taking ownership of the mechanical product development life cycle after prototyping, perform required updates, testing & verification to final production release, ensuring smooth transfer to production, and create and maintain production documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for design updates, development improvements, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for new and existing products.

• Verify and implement mechanical design standards, satisfactory production and assembly drawings, and best practices to ensure product production consistency and quality.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical, software, and engineering) to ensure that mechanical elements integrate seamlessly with other subsystems.

• Oversee the mechanical design process from prototyping through testing, and final production release, to ensure smooth transfer to production.

• Ensure that designs are manufacturable, meet product requirements, and quality standards.

• Identify and address any design issue or improvement, to support efficient production process.

• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including CAD models, design specifications, design verification reports, and production and assembly drawings.

Education:

o Practical engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

o Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in electromechanical engineering, with a proven track record of design and development of complex mechanical systems.

o Experience designing products according to military and aviation standards, and understanding manufacturing technologies. o Strong expertise in mechanical design, including CAD modeling (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, etc.).

o Deep understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and cost optimization principles.

o Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

o Experience with rapid prototyping, testing, and iterating on mechanical designs.

o High level of English language skills, verbal, reading and writing o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
