HW Expert

Description:

The HW Group is part of Nova's multidisciplinary R&D organization and plays a critical role in developing next-generation semiconductor metrology systems.

We are looking for a Hardware Expert to lead feasibility, integration, testing, verification, validation, and qualification activities for advanced electro-opto-mechanical systems. In this role, you will be deeply involved in new product development throughout the entire R&D lifecycle, working closely with electrical, optical, mechanical, and system engineering teams to bring innovative technologies from concept to production.

This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, driving system-level investigations, and influencing the development of cutting-edge products.

• Lead end-to-end hardware feasibility, integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities for next-generation electro-opto-mechanical systems.
• Actively support new product development throughout the entire R&D lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through validation and release.
• Develop and execute test plans and generate comprehensive technical reports.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during R&D qualification activities, first production tool builds, and customer beta evaluations.
• Drive system characterization and performance evaluations to validate product requirements and specifications.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including optical, mechanical, electrical, and system engineering, to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Lead the development of test fixtures, jigs, and supporting automation tools for R&D, Production, and Service.
• Manage technical interactions with suppliers, subcontractors, and external laboratories.
• Analyze experimental results and provide recommendations to support product and process improvements.
• Support the transfer of new technologies and products from development into manufacturing and field deployment.

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related discipline from a leading university.
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from a leading university.
• 3+ years of experience in the development, integration, and testing of complex electro-opto-mechanical hardware systems.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary systems, such as electro-optical, opto-mechanical, robotic, or precision instrumentation systems.
• Experience using MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, JMP, or similar engineering tools for analysis and testing.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, laser interferometers, and other advanced measurement instruments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
• Experience with optical systems is an advantage.
• Semiconductor industry and capital equipment experience are an advantage.
