Who we seek:

We're looking for a Director of Engineering to join our growing R&D leadership team, reporting to the VP of Engineering. In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of strategic product lines, drive innovation at scale, and lead multiple engineering teams working on BigID's core domain. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure we build cutting-edge, data-driven, customer-facing applications that create meaningful impact for Fortune 100 companies. Our ideal candidate is business-oriented, highly technical, and passionate about building high-performing teams and scalable systems that solve real-world problems.

What you'll do:

Lead and grow multiple engineering teams across regions, focusing on BigID's core domain and strategic product lines
Solve complex software problems with a data-driven and customer-centric mindset
Collaborate closely with Product Managers to align priorities and drive business outcomes
Build for scale, ensuring our systems and teams can support growing customer demand and evolving use cases
Foster a high-performing, motivated, and collaborative engineering culture
Define and track KPIs that reflect team health, quality, and delivery
Engage directly with customers to deeply understand their challenges and align solutions accordingly
Partner with distributed teams across Israel, Portugal, Ukraine, Poland, and India to deliver consistent value

What you'll bring:

4+ years of experience leading multiple software teams (10+ engineers total), including managers and senior ICs
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in systems design and architecture
Deep technical expertise, including 5-6 years of hands-on development in NodeJS, TypeScript, or Java
Proven experience delivering scalable, production-grade solutions
Background working with data-intensive systems and integrating external/in-house APIs and SDKs
Strong understanding of Agile/SCRUM practices and modern CI/CD workflows
Demonstrated success collaborating with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive business-oriented goals
Passion for building diverse, high-achieving engineering teams
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Excellent written and spoken English

Nice to have:

Master's degree in Computer Science or MBA
Experience in machine learning
Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab
