As a Software Engineer I on Ping Identity's Software team, you'll contribute to developing features and updates for our critical platform, which secures billions of identities for hundreds of organizations. This role offers the chance to work on an advanced identity and access protocol stack proven in enterprise-grade, large-scale deployments. You'll join a fast-moving, agile environment where your Java development skills, attention to security, quality, and performance, and ability to translate requirements into functional code will be key. You'll function as an individual contributor within a high-output agile development team, collaborating with team members in Denver, CO, and Vancouver, BC (Canada).

Responsibilities

Function as an individual contributor on a high output agile development team.

Collaborate effectively in a distributed team with team members in Denver, CO and Vancouver, BC (Canada).

Analyze and elaborate on requirements with our product management team.

Design new features to work seamlessly with existing functionality.

Plan and estimate work to be completed.

Maintain existing code and resolve reported defects.

Develop unit and integration tests in collaboration with software quality engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

Production-grade Java programming skills.

Solid understanding of HTTP and TLS.

Great interpersonal communication skills.

Familiarity with microservices architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Exceptional problem-solving skills.

Experience with development tools including IDEs, Git, Jenkins, and Maven.

Ability to learn quickly and independently, and capable of gathering information to understand complex features and environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with front-end development using React and Redux / JavaScript.

Experience with web application libraries such as Spring and Jackson.

Experience with Cassandra database.

Knowledge of identity management technologies and protocols (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, certificate & key management, cryptography, etc.).

Understanding of enterprise-scale systems and configurations related to security.
