We are seeking a passionate hands-on Applied Data Scientist to join our R&D team and help revolutionize the health benefits experience. This role is pivotal in developing intelligent systems that make healthcare navigation easier, faster, and more efficient for millions of users. You will work at the intersection of healthcare data, machine learning, and conversational AI to create solutions that deliver real value to users.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement machine learning models to power our personal AI assistant.
Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to provide accurate, contextual healthcare information.
Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to integrate intelligent capabilities into our user-facing features.
Create evaluation frameworks to continuously assess and improve AI assistant performance and accuracy.
Stay current on research and trends in generative AI, LLMs, and agent-based architectures—and help translate them into practical applications.
Contribute to building internal tools, evaluation pipelines, and best practices for applied AI.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

5 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or AI development roles
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in pandas, scikit-learn, and other ML libraries
Understanding of machine learning fundamentals including model evaluation and deployment
Experience with NLP techniques and working with LLM APIs to build AI-powered solutions
Familiarity with RAG systems, vector databases, and retrieval mechanisms
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies
Experience with data visualization tools (matplotlib, seaborn, Tableau, or similar)
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Salary range: Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience

Salary range: 35,000-40,000 (will be determined based on level of experience)
