Driivz is the leading enterprise EV charging management platform (CPMS), powering 160,000+ chargers across 35 countries for operators including Shell, EVgo, ESB, and Circle K. This role owns the connective tissue between product strategy and product reality — turning direction set by the CPO into a roadmap the org can actually execute, and building the team that delivers it.
The VP Product is the operating leader of the Product organization, reporting directly to the CPO. Where the CPO sets vision, strategy, and external direction (standards bodies, executive stakeholders, board-level priorities), the VP Product owns turning that strategy into a resourced, sequenced, well-specified roadmap — and building the org that ships it. This is a player-coach role: equal parts organizational leadership, cross-functional orchestration, and hands-on quality bar for what 'good' looks like in a spec, a UX flow, or a release.
You will sit above Driivz's two Product Management clusters (Connectivity — charger management, roaming, energy & grid; and Commercial — billing, driver & B2B, fleet), as well as UX and Technical Writing, giving you end-to-end ownership of how product intent becomes shipped, documented, well-designed product.
This role is deliberately set at VP level to give you real seniority parity with senior Engineering leadership — you are the day-to-day operating counterpart who turns strategy into shipped product together, roadmap to build, sprint to sprint.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Building & Leadership
• Rebuild and scale a Product org recently restructured into two PM clusters (Connectivity, Commercial) plus UX and Technical Writing — hire, develop, and retain team leads and ICs.
• Own performance management, career growth, and succession planning for PM, UX, and Writing leads; identify and address flight risk before it becomes attrition.
• Close open organizational gaps and ambiguous ownership areas with clear, durable decisions rather than leaving them unresolved.
• Establish a consistent operating rhythm — planning cadence, roadmap reviews, cross-cluster syncs — that scales as the team grows.
• Set and model the bar for product craft: what a good spec, a good roadmap bet, and a good release readiness review look like.
Strategy to Roadmap to Shipped Product
• Translate CPO-level strategy into a prioritized, resourced roadmap across both PM clusters.
• Own the mechanics of prioritization — balancing enterprise customer commitments, platform investment, and longer-term strategic bets.
• Drive roadmap-to-delivery accountability: planned-vs-actual tracking, planning quality, and closing the loop when estimates or scope drift.
• Partner directly with Engineering leadership as day-to-day operating counterpart — joint ownership of sequencing, tradeoffs, and ensuring roadmap commitments are realistic against true engineering dependencies.
• Ensure UX and Technical Writing are embedded early in the roadmap process, not bolted on at the end — design and documentation debt should never be a release surprise.
Cross-Functional & Executive Operating
• Represent the Product organization in executive and cross-company forums, deputizing for the CPO where appropriate.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and enterprise CPO stakeholders to translate customer and RFP commitments into roadmap reality.
• Own the interface between Product and Data & AI, Platform, and Commercial leadership to ensure roadmap decisions reflect real technical and commercial constraints.
• Bring visibility and rigor to reporting — status, risk, and tradeoffs — so the CPO and executive team can make fast, well-informed calls.
What Success Looks Like
• A fully staffed, low-attrition Product org with clear ownership across every function — no ambiguous reporting lines, no unfilled critical roles.
• A roadmap that is trusted: what's committed gets delivered, and when it doesn't, the team knows why fast.
• UX and Technical Writing operating as full roadmap partners, not downstream service functions.
• PM leads who are growing into stronger operators themselves — this role scales through the team, not around it.
• Strong, trusted working relationships across R&D, Sales, and Delivery — Product seen as an easy, collaborative partner rather than a bottleneck.
Requirements:
• 8+ years in product management, including 3+ years leading product managers, designers, or writers through other managers (not just individual contributors).
• Track record of taking an ambiguous, multi-team org and giving it structure — clear ownership, clear cadence, clear accountability.
• Experience translating executive-level strategy into a roadmap that survives contact with engineering reality — you understand tradeoffs, sequencing, and how to say no.
• Comfort operating in a technical, enterprise B2B/SaaS domain; EV charging, energy, IoT, or connected-hardware platform experience is a strong plus.
• A genuine builder of people and process — this role is being created specifically to bring structure and stability to a growing organization.
• A true people person with a can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude — someone who builds trust easily across teams and turns obstacles into forward motion rather than escalation.
• Direct, low-ego communication style; comfortable operating as a peer-level counterpart to Engineering leadership and as the operational partner to a strategy-focused CPO.
