Job Description

We are looking for a Banking Systems Analyst with hands-on COBOL development experience in a Mainframe environment to join an existing team of Systems Analysts and Developers.

The role includes gathering business requirements, analyzing existing systems and processes, translating business needs into detailed technical specifications, and supporting development and implementation throughout the project lifecycle, through to go-live.

Requirements

• Academic degree or practical engineering diploma in Information Systems, Technology, Industrial Engineering and Management, or relevant professional training in Information Systems Analysis.
• At least 5 years of proven professional experience in Information Systems Analysis, particularly in core banking systems (COBOL Mainframe), including working closely with developers.
• Previous experience in the banking industry, or the financial sector in general.
• Knowledge of DB2 and SQL Server databases.
• Familiarity with IBM Mainframe systems and COBOL.
• Ability to gather and define business requirements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience analyzing existing systems and identifying gaps between current capabilities and business requirements.
• Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specification documents (HLD / DLD).
• Experience supporting development, testing, and implementation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ability to manage and track work plans, Gantt charts, project milestones, and deliverables.
• Responsibility for system availability and business continuity.
• Experience working in a cross-functional, multi-stakeholder, matrix-managed environment.
• Familiarity with MASAV (Israel's Automated Bank Clearing System), account management, and customer management – an advantage.
• Familiarity with payment systems, garnishments, regulatory requirements, and compliance – an advantage.
